What is PLAY?
XCAD Network launched its SHO on DAO Maker back in May 2021, and has gone on to become one of the most successful projects ever to launch a SHO based on current ROI. XCAD Network was initially just a fan token and NFT platform for some of the world’s biggest content creators, in December 2022 the product was launched to mainstream users, acquiring over 100,000 users from just three creators.
As time has gone on, the XCAD team noticed the success of projects & trends such AXIE with Play2Earn and StepN with Move2Earn. There are more people that watch Youtube, than people that either run or play PC games combined. We realised there's a market for a game based on YouTube, which also helps creators grow.
The PLAY area allows users to mint NFT Nerds which can be upgraded and evolved. NFT Nerds earn play tokens as they are used to consume specific YouTube content. Play Tokens earned can be used to upgrade & evolve the levels of users NFTs. The highest rewards are given to users who watch videos within 30 minutes of their release, which is highly advantageous for the YouTuber receiving the views.
What makes PLAY unique?
XCAD network is the first #Watch2Earn Platform that works directly on YouTube, which means the game can be played by interacting with YouTube directly). There are currently other Watch2Earn models on the market but none which work directly on YouTube, or that have the unique marketing power that XCAD has (YouTubers with over 500,000,000 subscribers). XCAD is the first #Watch2Earn model that will have mainstream reach and application.
We have seen the success of StepN in terms of 2Earn models, although XCAD Network is a fan token platform for Web2 users and has had great success since launch, we have heard feedback from the community and users that want to use the platform as more of a game than to use the fan tokens. Mainly web3 users but some web2 aswell.
What is PLAY roadmap?
PLAY revenue streams
XCAD Network is already generating revenue from the fan token side of the business, however it plans to also generate revenue from the PLAY Area, the team takes fees on the following
- NFT Purchase
- NFT Repair
- NFT Trading fees
- NFT Upgrade fees
The longer term aim is to add a real gamified arm to the product, which gives room for a lot of transactions in terms of adding consumables, power ups and other challenges. These Features will allow users to improve their earning potential, increasing the engagement and retention of users.
How does PLAY work?
The XCAD ecosystem is split into two parts. The fan token area and the PLAY area. The fan token area is focused on bridging the gap between the fan and the creator. The PLAY area is more of a Watch2Earn Game similar to StepN’s model.
Below are parts of the ecosystem that relate to PLAY:
- XCAD Network iOS & Android Application - Native iOS & Android applications for mobile devices, users watch YouTube via the application on their phone and earn rewards.
- XCAD Network Google Chrome Plug-In - Similar to the Mobile application, the Google Chrome Plug-In allows users to watch YouTube and earn fan tokens or PLAY tokens if operating within the play area (Directly on YouTube)
- XCAD Network NFT marketplace for PLAY - XCAD Networks NFT marketplace allows users to trade their PLAY NFTs.
- XCAD Network Governance Portal - Users will be able to govern the PLAY area and which creators are supported via the XCAD Network Governance Portal.
What is PLAY marketing strategy?
Current user base - XCAD Network has already amassed over 100,000 users from just 3 creator promotions within the fan token area of the platform, but here's how we plan to acquire users for the PLAY area
Web3 Influencers - We’re connected with some of the biggest Web3 Content creators throughout major social media platforms such as YouTube & Twitter. A large number of them from within our network will promote the product in April.
Web2 Influencers - XCAD Network has announced Web2 Creators issuing fan tokens with over 500m subscribers combined. A portion of these and also some new huge web2 names that we haven’t announced yet, will start to promote the product to their audience. StepN had a large number of web2 users, XCAD has a more friendly web2 experience than Stepn so promoting the product via huge YouTubers is extremely easy for us, and will yield a very high conversion rate. Our reach in this market is without equal, and we have influencers in hand that could bring eyes to a web 3.0 project the likes of which have never been seen before.
Referral system - XCAD Network has a built-in referral system, similar to STEPN, users need access codes to access the area, these will get more common as time goes on, however you will get one access code a week to refer a friend. This should have a snowball effect on user growth and hype.
Current user base - The fan token platform side of XCAD Network already has 100,000 users, these users will be exposed to the play area and Play Token from day one.
What are PLAY token utilities?
Play Token is needed to operate the Watch2Earn Game, It's used at launch to buy, trade or repair the NFT needed to earn. Most of the tokens when one of these actions are taken out cause a token burn to take place:
- 93% of NFT Minting volume is burnt, 7% goes to treasury
- 7.5% of NFT Trading volume taken in fees, with 3.75% being burnt and 3.75% going to the Treasury.
- 96.5% of NFT Repair Costs are burnt, 3.5% goes to treasury
- 96.5% of NFT Upgrade Costs are burnt, 3.5% goes to treasury
